Installation

Please upgrade the Supercard DSTWO firmware first before installing the driver if you want to use the Supercard DSTWO on the DSi with the latest compatible firmware.

Format a Micro SD/SDHC Card

 Using Windows XP/Vista/7 Format Tool

After inserting the microSD into the card reader, go to My Computer.
    b)  Right click the driver representing the microSD memory card.
    c)  Choose Format

   d)  Click Start to format the memory card in FAT32

Using Panasonic Memory Card Format Software

Note:
If your memory cards have capacity bigger than 32GB, please download the SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Cards Format Software.

1. Insert SD/SDHC Memory Card into reader/writer.
2. Click on [Start], point to [All Programs] -> [Panasonic] -> [SD Formatter VX.X], and click on [SD Formatter VX.X].
    “X.X” means the version number of SD Memory Card Formatting Software. 
   If “User Account Control” window is displayed on the screen, please click on [Arrow].
3. The main window is displayed on the screen.
4. Select the target drive by drive list and check SD/SDHC Memory Card size.
5. Click on [Format].
6. After clicking on it, confirmation window is displayed on the screen. Here, if [OK] is clicked, this software executes the format operation. On the contrary, if [Cancel] is clicked, this software cancels the format operation and returns to the main window.
7. The following status window is displayed on the screen during the format operation.
   Note: [Cancel] on this window is available only if either “FULL (Erase ON)” or “FULL (Erase OFF)” is selected as format type option. If “QUICK” is selected as format type option, this button is not available.
8. After the format operation completion, click [OK] and remove the Memory Card from your PC.
9. Reinsert the memory card to the PC to start using the memory card. 

Using Mac Memory Card Format Tool

1. Plug your memory card reader into a USB port on your Mac. Insert the microSD / microSDHC card into the memory card reader's microSD / microSDHC slot, and the microSD / microSDHC card will mount on your Mac desktop.
2. In an open Finder window, single-click "Applications" in the Side-Bar and scroll down to find the Utilities folder. Find Disk Utility in the Utilities folder and double-click the "Disk Utility" application to launch it.
3. In the opened Disk Utility application, single-click to select the microSD / microSDHC card in the left-hand Drives column. Then, single-click to select the "Erase" button in the top row of radio buttons. Select the format MS-DOS (FAT) to format the microSD / microSDHC card on the "Volume Format" pop-up button.  When you have finished selecting the formatting options, click "Erase."
4. A new dialogue box will pop up in "Disk Utility," asking if you are sure you wish to erase the microSD / microSDHC card. Caution: Erasing the microSD / microSDHC card will permanently erase any files. Make sure you have backed up any file you wish to keep. To continue with the formatting process, click "Erase."
5. Once the microSD / microSDHC card has been erased, it will mount on your Mac desktop just as any other removable drive.

 DSTWO Driver Setup Guide 

1. Unzip the file downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC
   1. Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
   2. Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have ：
       
      _dstwo
      ds2boot.dat
       readme_eng.txt
2. Select all the above three unzipped files and copy them to the microSD memory card
3. Copy your own files, including music, movies, pictures and other data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.
4. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the Supercard DSTWO. Insert the Supercard DSONEi with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.   
5. For DS & DS Lite, you will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY. Please touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.
6. For DSi or DSi XL, you will see the following icon with the name Fish Tycoon Majesco Entertainment. Please touch the icon or press button A to continue.
7. Wait for the Supercard DSTWO to load.
8. Congratulation if you have come this far as you have successfully set up your Supercard DSTWO. There you go. Enjoy your DS with the truly multimedia functions.

Supercard TWO Firmware fixed for Nintendo 3DS

2. Select all the above  unzipped files and copy them to the microSD memory card.
3. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the Supercard DSTWO. Insert the Supercard DSONEi with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.  

   Make sure DO NOT power off until it finished upgrading!  

4. Then you can use your DSTWO on the N3DS after upgrading.

ds2sdk Introduce
1 What is the ds2sdk?

The ds2sdk is an interface of application layer and driver layer. It's collection of GCC compiler, ds2 hardware driver library, some open source library and an example. It's released to help software lovers to develop program which run on DSTWO.

 
2 What the ds2sdk can be used to do?

ds2sdk can be seen as a multimedia development kit. Hardware layer mainly provides audio and video transmission function. By ds2sdk upper layer interface, you can transfer audio data and video data to NDS, the same, you can put NDS hardware information and real-time clock information back to the upper application. So, if you're a software enthusiast, depending on ds2sdk, all audio and video related things, you can try to do. For example, you can develop or transplant your own reading software by ds2sdk, or you thought that the official iReader has room for improvement, you can make improvement for it (by the way, the latest version of the iReader source will be fully public released). You can transplant, or improve the relevant simulator, or do your own home-made software, such as MP3 players, MPLAYER player. You can even make your own game if you wish. In short, if you are a software enthusiast, ds2sdk gives you a stage.

 
3 How to use the ds2sdk?

In order to use ds2sdk, you need to do the following things:
( 1 ) Setup development environment, include linux environment and cross-compiling environment.
( 2 ) Your application program is required the entry: ds2_main(), ds2_main() is the same as the function of main() in the general program.
( 3 ) Related hardware and software initialization(Including video, audio, input, output devices and so on): by the function ds2io_init() or function ds2io_initb() to complete.
( 4 ) Initialize the console: the function ConsoleInit() to complete.
( 5 ) Initialize file systems: by function fat_init () to complete.
This file system can only read and write SD card in DSTWO.
( 6 ) Enter the user main program, hence, the control has given to the user application program.
For example: (NOTE: ds2sdk's example can refer to the specific program)

4 How to setup development environment of the ds2sdk? How to install it?

Linux operation system are required to build the cross-comiling evironment. If your computer's operating system is just linux, that is best. But now the situation is that many program developers may be working on Windows. How to do it? Fortunately, there are many ways to simulate linux environment on Windows. CYGWIN and VM(virtual Machine) technology can do this. CYGWIN employ some special DLL to enable Linux program run on Windows, it require fewer disk space and memory space, but the compability may be not the best. So, Cygwin is not recommended. The most effective method is to install VM on Windows, for example, VMware Workstation and VirtualBox. Although they take up much CPU and memory resources and hard disk space more than CYGWIN, but the compatibility is better, you will encounter problems as little as possible. I personally recommend the use of VMware Workstation. Here we setup a linux environment by VMware Workstation 6 and Fedora 9.

 
5 How to compile the ds2sdk example?

After you have setuped linux environment, and you have download the ds2sdk development kit from internet, now, how to build cross-compiling environment and how to compile the example of ds2sdk? You need to setup shared folders of VM( about the problem of VMware Workstation's shared folders, different versions of VMware Workstation have different method, we are not to introduce one by one here) so that the system in VM could access the ds2sdk development kit, or you can copy directly ds2sdk development kit to your linux operating system in VM, then you decompress ds2sdk to your computer.

For example.ds2sdk directory on ~/, the work directory is ~/opt, , OS is Fedora, commands as following:

mkdir -p ~/opt
cd ~/opt
tar xjf ~/ds2sdk/gcc/mipsel-4.1.2-nopic.tar.bz2
export PATH=$PATH:~/opt/mipsel-4.1.2-nopic/bin

In fact, enter ds2sdk directory, just: make. the makefile will decompress
compiler to ~/opt directory and compiling the open source library libds2a.a and
example files.
